Surjit S. Babra is a Canadian entrepreneur and investor with more than four decades of experience across aviation, capital markets, food processing, logistics, and industrial real estate. He is the Chairman & CEO of SkyLink Capital Corp., Vice-Chairman & Partner of Highbury Canco Corporation.
Throughout his career, Mr. Babra has helped build, scale, and transition businesses operating in Canada and internationally. His work has included aviation services, cargo operations, humanitarian logistics, food manufacturing, industrial property investment, and long-term capital deployment. He is recognized for his practical leadership style, entrepreneurial discipline, and commitment to creating sustainable value.
Mr. Babra played an leading role in the growth of the SkyLink Group of Companies, which expanded from aviation services into international logistics, charter operations, and humanitarian aid delivery. He was also closely involved with SkyLink Express, a Canadian cargo airline, and remains active in investment through real estate, capital markets, and operating companies.
As Vice-Chairman and Partner of Highbury Canco Corporation, Mr. Babra is part of one of Canada's significant food processing businesses, supporting employment, manufacturing, and value-added food production in Ontario.
Beyond business, Mr. Babra is deeply committed to philanthropy, education, mentorship, and community service. He is the founder of SkyLink Children's Charity and the Babra Family Foundation, and has supported scholarships, student mentorship, health care, and educational initiatives. In 2024, he made a landmark $1 million donation to Toronto Metropolitan University's School of Medicine, reflecting his belief in expanding access to healthcare for all .
Mr. Babra is also the creator of Langar for the Mind, a community initiative that brings together Sikh values, mental wellness, leadership, and entrepreneurship. Through his speaking and community work, he often emphasizes the principle of Chardi Kala: resilient optimism, service, and forward-looking strength.
His broader vision is to build businesses, support communities, and inspire the next generation to lead with integrity, courage, and purpose. His guiding motto is: "Make the world a better place, one generation at a time."
Mr. Babra has been recognized for his contributions to business, aviation, philanthropy, and community leadership, including receiving an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree from Toronto Metropolitan University.
